A Celebration of STEAM Events, Activities & Challenges
Millburn Education Foundation is honoring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math with STEAMFest 2024. During March and April, we're hosting STEAM-related competitions for Millburn K-12 students that are sure to challenge their busy minds. We hope you'll join us in this STEAM celebration!
Below are the STEAM challenges and details for each competition and registration links.
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, we're hosting a STEAMFest Day at Millburn High School from 12pm-7pm that will include a FREE Robotics Demo, Screening of the winning FilmFest Films and a STEAMFest AWARDS SHOW where we will honor and celebrate all of the winners from all of our STEAM challenges!

Virtual Chess Tournament
Ready to play some Chess? Test your mettle against your peers in our town-wide VIRTUAL Chess Tournament which takes place on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 3pm. (Lichess ID required.) The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3!
Registration opens March 6, 2024 and closes by 11:59pm on March 13.

Math Challenge 4-12
Check out our virtual math contest for grades 4-12 that will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3! Registration opens March 6, 2024 and closes by 11:59pm on April 5, 2024 .

Art - FilmFest Challenge
Calling all filmmakers in grades 5-12! This year our FilmFest Challenge has two (2) categories for film submissions: Novice and Intermediate/Advanced. And each category is divided into two levels – one level for Grades 5-8 and one level for Grades 9-12. Top 3 winning films from each category will be shown at MHS on 4-27-24.
Film Submissions are due by 11:59pm on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

Check out our in-person elementary level (Grades K-3) math contest that will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Hartshorn School. The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3! Registration opens March 6, 2024 and closes by 11:59pm April 5, 2024.

Rated Chess Tournament
Test your chess skills against your peers in our in-person USCF-rated chess tournament that will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Millburn High School. The tournament will be run and proctored by CHESS IN MILLBURN ACADEMY and will feature 3 levels of play (Unrated, U800 and U1600) The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3! (USCF membership ID required!) Registration opens March 6, 2024 and closes by 11:59pm on April 24, 2024.​
