Millburn Education Foundation is honoring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math with STEAMFest 2025. During the month of March, we're hosting STEAM-related competitions for Millburn K-12 students that are sure to challenge their busy minds. We hope you'll join us in this STEAM celebration!

Virtual Chess Challenge
Ready to play some Chess? Test your mettle against your peers in our town-wide VIRTUAL Chess Tournament (Lichess ID required.) The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3!

FilmFest Challenge
Calling all filmmakers in grades 5-12! This year our FilmFest Challenge has two (2) categories for film submissions: Casual and Professional.
Casual will be no longer than 90 second videos focused on a positive message around a centralized topic - Careers in STEAM. The idea is to create a video that might promote the topic on social media.
Professional is where aspiring filmmakers take it to the next level and create an original film of no longer than 15 minutes in length and the topics are self-selected by the filmmaker within the boundaries of the rules.
Film Submissions are due by 11:59pm on Wednesday, March 1, 2025.

Math Contest (K-12)
Check out our in-person math contests for grades K-12 that will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Hartshorn School. The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3! Registration opens March 6, 2024 and closes by 11:59pm April 5, 2024.

Rated Chess Tournament
Test your chess skills against your peers in our in-person USCF-rated chess tournament that will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Millburn High School. The tournament will be run and proctored by CHESS IN MILLBURN ACADEMY and will feature 3 levels of play (Unrated, U800 and U1600) The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3! (USCF membership ID required!) Registration details to follow.
