Millburn Education Foundation is honoring Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math with
STEAMFest 2025.
During the month of March, we're hosting STEAM-related competitions for Millburn K-12 students that are sure to challenge their busy minds. We hope you'll join us in this STEAM celebration!
This year's theme is Careers in STEAM
and activities wil be of interest to all age students in the Millburn community who are building toward their future career.

Virtual Chess Challenge
Ready to play some Chess? Test your mettle against your peers in our town-wide VIRTUAL Chess Tournament (Lichess ID required.) on Saturday, March 8.
The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3!
Registration opens February 10, 2025 and closes by 11:59pm on March 5, 2025.

Tours of MHS MILL
and STUDIO 462
The Millburn Innovative Learning Lab (MILL), home to the award winning Millburn Robotics Team and Studio 462, home toMillburn High School's Broadcasting and Production Network, are two examples of how MEF uses the funds we raise to support our local schools. Join us for tours of the two spaces and see where the magic of these MHS organizations happens.

FilmFest Challenge
Calling all filmmakers in grades 5-12! This year our FilmFest Challenge has two (2) categories for submissions: Casual and Professional.
Casual will be no longer than 90 second videos focused on a positive message around a our theme - Careers in STEAM.
Professional is where aspiring filmmakers take it to the next level and create an original film of no longer than 15 minutes in length.
Film Submissions are due by 11:59pm on Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Rated Chess Tournament
Test your chess skills against your peers in our in-person USCF-rated chess tournament that will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Millburn High School. The tournament will be run and proctored by CHESS IN MILLBURN ACADEMY and will feature 3 levels of play (Unrated, U800 and U1600) The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3! (USCF membership ID required!)
Registration opens February 10, 2025 and closes by 11:59pm on March 16, 2025.

Math Contest (K-12)
Our in-person math contests are open to all Millburn students in grades K-12. It will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 9am to 3pm at Hartshorn School. Please see the Challenge Details below for grade-level times. The competition will recognize the top 5 winners of each age group and additional prizes will be given to the top 3!
